Tracker
antony1969 - 2014-01-22 12:23 PM Like frank I thought Morocco was crap too . We found Morocco to be a fascinating country full of contrasts and the unexpected. The people were in the main happy and friendly and some of the sights we saw you would never see in Europe. We never felt in danger at any time although the beggars and highly nomadic traders were a real pain in bum at times. We did have the benefit of a highly experienced, and highly expensive, tour guide and for a first time visit or a one off trip I still think it is the best way to get the most out of a holiday there. We might well go there again one day - but probably steer well clear of the major cities and ports where the harassment is far more prevalent than in the more rural areas. Robinhood
......before visiting Morocco with my motorhome, I'd like confirmation that the main roads had improved somewhat over the last 35 years ;-). Spent a few weeks there well off the tourist track, and found the Berbers delightful people, though the Arabs slightly less so. If I go back I'll have to retry Jebel Toubkal, the last 100 feet or so having defeated us, following route-finding problems. IMO, it was a holiday, Jim, but not as we know it!
