For France there is only one worth buying "Le Guide Officiel Camping Caravanning" covers every camp site in France you can get in most supermarkets in France or in the UK from Vicarious Books or the main Clubs.

For Germany the ADAC Guide is good sold in Autobahn service areas & garages.

The ACSI Camping Card and guide (which comprises 2 books for the whole of Europe) is certainly worth getting if you are travelling out of High Season. The discounts with this card are worthwhile. you could cover the cost of the card/books in just a few nights (perhaps even one!).

The other guides we use are The Camping Club publications called "Caravan Europe". Entries are provided by CC members who have visited the sites. We usually find the comments are reliable although some members don't seem to know the difference between kilometres and miles.

With these publications and a couple of Aires books we have all the information we need.
