JohnD
I am thinking of buying a CTEK MS 5.0 battery charger for use in my Peugot Boxer 2.2 litre diesel motorhome to keep the vehicle battery topped up. Is there any reason why I could not have the cigarette lighter sockets connected directly to the battery so that I could connect the charger to battery via one of them when the vehicle is not in use. This would save the palaver of scrabbling around under the floor to access the battery. (At the moment, the sockets are not live when the ignition is off)
lennyhb
Providing you put a fuse in line of the correct size to protect the cables I can not see any reason why not.
JohnD
Many thanks. Was hoping it would present no problems.
tonyishuk
Probably easier to scrabble around on the floor than trying to make the sockets live when the ignition is off. Maybe Rgds
Wallynnette
I've got two of these, one for my mini's and the other for my Peugeot motorhome. I bought a ctek comfort socket, connect to the battery and bring it up into the dash and mount where you like. It also has traffic light leds to let you know state of charge. No more faffing about under the floor.
