Guest Ken C Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Has anyone any recommendations on sites, ferries and who to book with to enjoy this years race in June.
Guest Neal Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Ken I've only ever been once (unfortunately) but the venue itself at Le Mans has about 5 temporary campsites, all fairly large. They have "toilets" and "showers" but I'm led to believe that these are pretty rudimentary (I use my on-board facilities) but they are well-used by the "tenters". The ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) host the event and will sell tickets, including camping passes if required. Tickets can also be purchased from UK agencies if there are any still available. End of March is very, very late to be trying to get tickets! They sell thousands well in advance. It is known as the most popular UK sport not held in the UK! We outnumber even the French! As for ferries, you pays your money and takes your choice. Above all, enjoy! It was the most amazing sporting experience I could ever imagine. It makes F1 look like braille chess! Regards Neal
Guest Ken C Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Thanks for your comments Neal. It sounds great so if I am unable to get tickets this year I will just have to try for next.
