Adiebt
Do I have to do any prep ? Empty lockers / storage areas ? Cheers in advance !
lennyhb
Depends on the dealer some refuse to do a damp cake cut if the lockers are full. Personally I never bother with a habitation check just have the annual damp check done to keep the warranty.
sshortcircuit
Yes, you want to empty all lockers etc.in order they can do a full dampness test in all areas. Ask to see the the dampness test meter they are going to use and check it's not a £5 banger off eBay. Ensure they test the walls and the floors under the lockers, beds etc. and ask them to provide details of where the readings were taken and what they are Electrical faults, gas faults, heating faults are all easily rectified. Damp is a killer and very expensive to rectify so that is your priority. Make a list of any faults/problems you have had and make sure they are checkd
ips
Habitation check otherwise known as money for old rope. Imo if mfrs will refuse a claim on damp or any other faults just because you didnt pay a dealer to have a poke about for two hundred quid then they dont have much faith in there product.
