Will86
There are often questions on batteries. (One from Spain this week) Apart from the possible increase in size, is a Leisure Battery any different internally from any standard vehicle battery, do they have a different construction internally in order to name them as 'Leisure' ? Would any battery suit if housed in a suitable compartment ? Could a 'Leisure Battery' be used as a 'Vehicle Battery' ?

Guest peter
Have a read here. http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/topic/43446-leisure-battery-or-car-battery/ and elsewhere on the interweb.
StuartO
And another read here: http://www.gl1800.org.uk/off-topic/engine-and-leisure-batteries-testing-and-buying/ The two types have different thickness and weights of internal plates. Starter batteries need to deliver high currents for brief periods, leisure batteries need to hold as much enegery as possible and tolerate deep discharge when it's being used. Good leisure batteries can usually serve as a reserve starter battery if necessary but not the other way around.
