BikerBarry
Greetings Sages. Has anyone had a 2.3 Fiat engine re-mapped? If so by whom, how much and what were the results? I'm looking for a bit more torque at low revs.
rolandrat
Hi Barry, Although I've never had it done I know of some owners who have. Two in particular said that it vastly improved the performance and one overtook me in my 3ltr and left me for dead. Only one owner said that he wished he'd never had it done as he was getting excessive black smoke. Unless you really need the extra power I'd leave well alone or get a Fiat 3ltr prancing horse. Dave Newell
There are plenty of folks who have had remaps done, most claim great improvements in driveability and fuel economy although I do know of a couple of people who have had subsequent engine problems put down to the remapping. I've just recently had my race car remapped but that was due to other mods making it necessary, my problem with generic remapping services is the cost. Why does it cost £300 or more to have a generic remap done when my remapping took five hours on a rolling road so it is a bespoke mapping to suit the car and that cost me £400 and a trip to Norfolk.
