rolandrat
Nick will probably be able to answer this question. Has anyone had any problems replacing the brake pads on an X250 Fiat? For instance backing up the brake fluid after fitting them.
Dave Newell
Done quite a few with no problem at all but I'm confused by your comment "backing up the brake fluid", what exactly do you mean by this please? I do find it easiest to use a piston wind back tool but a large G clamp will perform the same function. D.
rolandrat
Good to hear Dave, I've never experienced a problem with many makes myself but it was mentioned through hearsay so I thought I'd mention it.
euroserv
Apart from adding the following; which applies to almost any vehicle.... If the sliders are not moving back and forwards like a knife through hot butter; be prepared to strip them, clean them and lubricate them well. Clean any accumulated dirt from the pad shims too. All very worthwhile..... In addition, any lubrication required is best done with Ceramic grease. You might not have seen how solid copper and aluminium greases get over time but believe me; you need the proper stuff. For the most part it's a simple job but make sure you push both pistons back together. You don't want one popping out!
