Spenser
Has any one experienced a chassis flexing problem from the hitch backwards, causing damage to the locker floor to wall fixing and also damage to the furniture/bulkhead inside the caravan? Iainr
Yes I have a Fleetwood Herirage 640ES 2004 model first registerd mid 2005. Returning recently from holiday the caravan started bouncing up and down gentle at first but getting progressively worse until it was very noticable through the driving mirror. When inspecting the van no external signs of damage but when I looked in the front locker the aluminium back panel was danged where the caravan had clearly been lifting up and down by some 1/2 inch. the a frame cover is also damaged. Subsequent inspection by my caravan dealer proved that the front of the van has seperated from the chassis !!!. Fleetwood have agreed to repair under warranty but at first claim that it has only every happende once before but as I assume you are not this person I guess they are miss staken. The initail offer was to take it back to the factory at the end of January !!, this was unacceptable and I am now awaiting it to be taken into a dealer in Scotland for repair with Fleetwood agreeing to transport free of charge. I understand parts will take 4 - 8 weeks. I have lost all confidence in Fleetwood and their after sales service is non existsant I would be intersetde to hear you story.
