You don't want anything too big or heavy if you are erecting it on your own. Wind is the main obstacle with only one pair of hands, the tent has a life of it's own! And it depends what level of luxury you want with you (I have no experience of trailer tents) - when I camp which is infrequently - but this weekend and next weekend I will be camping (motorhome is away for repairs 8o| ) I take the bare minimum - and the closest I get to the kitchen sink is a small washing up bowl! These dome tents are good, with a separate sleeping compartment. Usually you erect the tent and then attach the sleeping bit inside which protects it from the rain - the more cross overs the stronger it is. The sleeping compartment will have a sewn in groundsheet. have a look at http://www.simply-tents.com/ this will give you an idea of what is out there. regards Carol

We have a folding camper, which you dont need the awning with for one, but does come with one generally, in there you have home comforts and space, and I can do it on my own as it is only a case of pulling the sides out and standing up the cupboard in side and flipping over the sink, all easily done by one person. Depends if you mind towing or not, but we have loved this and now want to move to motor home as I like to keep on the move all the time and as there are 4 of us we need the awning every time we go out in it. We had a trailer tent first but did need 2 of us, in good health one in 30's one in 40's, and have to say was very cold in an evening ,, cornwall in the heat of the summer and still didnt keep that warm, were as with folding camper you can at least close it off and get some nice cosy heat going in a evening. hope this helps Mandy
