sshortcircuit
Do any of the indicator lights illuminate? The common factors for it not to work at all are a fuse blown on the PCB or coolant leaked out. Need more info.
Derek Uzzell
wyliemg - 2014-06-08 4:54 PM My fridge no longer works on gas, 12v or mains. Any thoughts? :'( Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums. The RM123 model is a small-capacity Dometic fridge that has been marketed for more than 10 years. There's an instruction document for it here http://www.thomson-caravans.co.uk/advice/maintenance/pdf/rm122f_rm123e.pdf with some basic trouble-shooting guidance on Page 11. As sshortcircuit has said, for useful advice to be offered you'll need to provide more detail. It would be helpful to know (roughly) how old your fridge is and, when you say "...no longer works...", whether you mean that the fridge is completely 'dead' or that things happen (eg. the gas-burner can be lit) but the fridge does not cool. If the latter, you might find the following 2012 forum-thread relevant http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Hints-and-Tips/FRIDGE-NOT-GETTING-COLD-AT-ALL/28542/
wyliemg
Many thanks for your reply. Sorry I should have given more detail. The frdge does not get cold. All indications are that it should be cooling. The gas is burning and all the electric appears to be OK. The campervan is 15 years old so I assume it was fitted when new. I have looked at the thread you listted and it appears I have the same problem.
Derek Uzzell
Received wisdom in a case like this - elderly 3-way absorption fridge failing to cool on gas, 12V or 230V - seems to be to try the 'turn it upside down' ploy, but, that doesn't work, a replacement fridge will be needed.
