Bon soir tout le monde We are back after 18 nights out with our motorhome. We had a good time, no problems to speak of while we were away. 1st night - cl outside Dover 2nd night - Aire at Arques, by the lake, 2 euros to park, jetons from campsite for the services - lovely and quiet and wet (the weather). 3rd night - Aire at St Valery sur Somme - 5 euros to park, services free (borne would not take any money!), nice town been there before with the caravan - poured and poured with rain, all night and most of the morning! 4th night - Aire at Honfleur - 7 euros and we were lucky enough to get a pitch with electric, weather getting better, still chilly wind but the sun was shining. 5th night - Aire - Port en Bessin Haupain (car park at football pitch) free, but no services, the borne is down in the town opposite the TIC. Sun shining. 6th night - Municipal camp site at st Mere Eglise - we needed to fill up and empty and the borne wasn't working, and would have had to pay 4 euros to stay on the car park behind the church, and thought 'the bells' would have been a bit much every 15 minutes all night *-) - 12.60 euros. 7th night - wild - car park at Azeville at the batterie - hot now, very hot, so quiet, and no light pollution at night - only the moon. 8th night - Car park Mont St Michel - 8 euros - well what can I say, what a view to go to bed with and to wake up to - magical :-) 9th night - Aire - Hede on the canal to the west of Renne - own pitch, all services on pitch, right on the canal bank - 4.29 euros. Lovely walks up and down the 11 locks bit of rain, but not cold. 10/11th nights - campsite - Pornic Camping Le Boudinarediere - touring cheques, hot, very hot, enjoyed all the facilities ie swimming pool etc. 12/13th nights - Aire - St Jean de monts - borne not working so free. exceptionally hot! swam in the sea. 14/15th nights - Camp site at Concourson sur Layon, we had a choice here, campsite, aire or french passion. Decided on the campsite as the 12v on the fridge had decided to work only occasionally and the gas was struggling to keep the fridge cool, temperture 30+ now. and we were meeting up with friends on the 2nd night - them on the way south and us heading north! ASC! card. 16th night - a gem of an aire at Marboue - just a few ks north of chateaudun - room for 6 mhs and all parking and services free. 17th night - Aire at Dieppe - on the harbour, 7 euros for the night, services free. Still very hot. 18th night - Gravelines - on the side of the marina - free - ready for our ferry home at 10am this morning from Dunkerque. Still hot! We have visited so many places inbetween the overnight stops, the mind boggles, I have kept a diary otherwise I would have lost the plot entirely! Just got to work out the fuel comsumption next and other expenses! Work tomorrow! start saving for the next long trip away :-S a bientot. Carol

oh I know how much it has cost (lol) We spent a lot of money on entrance fees to museums etc, it soon adds up! but him indoors wants to know the mpg! Have you noticed that you get a better rate of exchange using your debit card, (I bank with nationwide - statement waiting for me when I got home) than when you change your cash to euros over here! It was an excellent trip though. Even met up with melb and hubby, even if it was only for 1 minute as we were getting back into our vehicles ready for disembarkation. carol
