Dave Newell
Never come across this in a van but as you say it only occurs in fourth gear I would be giving the gearbox a close look. Speak to a gearbox reconditioner, they might have seen this problem before. D.
Lizzy
We have a vibration in our Volvo estate at between 45-55 mph. It's a nuisance (!) especially as we can't isolate the problem. I'm aware of it sometimes ........ it happened in our Ford Anglia estate too ........ at between 30-40 mph [down hill back wind ;-) ] Is there a 'club' for your model that you could ask the question? Or go onto sites and see folks with vans like yours?
docted
Could it be changing up to 4th too early? Most modern vehicles are not at there best below about 35/40 mph in 4th gear. Docted
dickyc2
>:-( read the origional thread, 45/50mph, i know its not the gearbox, thats ok, if the box was at fault , it would rattle, click, whine or rumble and last but not least, the gears would crunch, maybe i should ask the owners club and get a sensible answer,(don't take that the wrong way), but to me, it feels like a weak engine mount, or maybe it's normal, speak soon, byeeeee.
