trickydicky
Hi again, off to the Mosel next week and looking for places to stay on the way. Someone has mentioned remich ( on the border). Can anyone recommend an aire, preferably, or a campsite in remich please.
Noodles
Hi, We were in Remich a couple of weeks ago and stayed at Camping Du Port . The campsite is a marina reasonably priced about 12 euros per night. Cycle track goes from the campsite into the centre of Remich. Lovely place beautiful country can't wait to return. Have a good time :-D
Mickt
From Remich go over bridge into Germany campsite on right hand side on bank of Mosel. When going over bridge you must turn left and come back under the bridge, easy walk back into town.Sit on your pitch and watch the boats go past. robertandjean
In Remich last September for local wine festival. We stayed also stayed at the Marina but on aire not campsite, as marina operates both. We chose the aire (now what a surprise) as aire pitches have views over marina, and some river views also. Cost with hook up was 11€/night, about same as site and you have to drive on site to empty waste! WiFi included but need to sit in site cafe for reasonable reception. To go into Remich can catch local bus from nearby village or drive van in as plenty parking near town. A second option used by many vanners is a large roadside lay-by between Marina and town right on river side. Around 10 vans there each time we passed, but not used as we do not wild camp so can not comment on noise etc. Enjoy Remich really nice town. sooty10
We were there last July and stayed with about another 12 vans in a lay by right by the river. Most of the others were German, but another 3 from uk. We only stayed 2 nights but some had been there for weeks On speaking to some of the others no one had been told to move on. It was only about half a mile walk into town. Many other aires down the Mosel were only 5 euro a night. Have a great trip. Keith (sooty)

maggyd
The layby is on the through main road, you just drive slowly until you see the motorhome sign, they are a few car parks so make sure you see the motorhome one, you cant miss it as there is only a grass verge and spaced out tree,s and Id be surprised if there were no other vans parked there. We came from the Mosel so it was at the end of the road. On Google maps Ive found it at 49d32'10.61" N 6d21'35.14" E
Mel B
We stayed at the lay-by last night! :-D It is located on the left as you go out of town southwards towards Bech Kleinmaener (not sure of the exact spelling!) keeping the Mosel on your left, you'll see a sign for 'slip' as there is a boat slipway there, you should see other MHs there - by the time it got to bedtime there were 16 of us. The only 'bad' things were when one of the German MHers walked by, saw the cherries and proceeded to pick them up off the floor and eat them ... he did the same this morning ... they weren't ones that had just dropped off either ... disgusting ... yuk!!! The second involved a British MH couple in a 12 plate coachbuilt Autocruise who pulled in after us and were away early the following morning on their way to Greece for 3 months ... when they left they had opened their grey waste tap fully and it was gushing out all over the road as they travelled past ... very disappointing. Despite being by the road it was actually very quiet and is obviously an accepted stop as the local 'council' put out extra rubbish bags for the MHers to use attached to the side of the bins. We were parked right by the slipway next to a lovely cherry tree and when we took the dogs for a potter by the river we found even more cherry trees dripping with fruit ... yummie ... did you get any Maggy? myshell
HI Tricky Here are a few I used September last year, the camp site/marina is called Port-de-Plesance very clean site 12 euros per night inc. electric but they tend to pitch motor homes at the far end of the marina basin, furthest away from the toilets, showers, laundry and M/H service bourne (so take your bike) tokens for washing machine & tumble dryer available at reception. We didn't stay on the aire at Dudelange due to the steep incline of the M/H parking area. Remich Bech Kleinmancher (Esplanade) N49°32' 11" E6°21' 35" This is the lay by / slipway as mentioned by others as an overnight stay, no services but very peaceful and no one bothers you, just sit and watch the boats go by and the man in his wet suit taking his 3 pyrenean mountain dogs for a swim.
