AND Finally Day 37 - 42

Recommended Posts

Hi again

Day 37 Dole

Drove the 164 miles to Camping Du Pasquire (ACSI 1693) We only stayed 1 night as we were now on a schedule to get back for the ferry next week. The site is very good, all pitches are flat, not very big but ok. There is free wifi around the bar and pool. Site has 2 toilet blocks, 1 old and 1 new. You can walk into Dole from the campsite, which we did, a lovely town and visited the Maison that Louis Pasteur lived in. Well worth the walk in, Dole is a beautiful town alongside the river.. Rated 7/10. See pics..

Day 38-39-40

Lac De Orient (camp cheques 266). This is our 3rd time here, a must if your in the area. The site is next to one of the largest artificial lakes in France (reservoir to us) where you can sunbathe on the beach, swim or go boating. Appears to be an Aire just down the road but not advertised as one, but always had Motorhomes there!!

The site itself has an indoor and outdoor pool, water slide, bar and a nice restaurant, a well stocked mini market and free wifi at the bar. Pitches are a good size and generally flat. The whole place is very clean and well looked after. Lots to do here.. Rated 9/10

Day 41 Sunday 23 June

The town of Peronne and site Port de Plaisance (ACSI 1139) staying 1 night as need to be near Calais tomorrow. Site is good for a stop-over, has bar, wifi, swimming pool, reasonable toilet block, but just a little small.. You can walk into the town or just sit and watch the boats go up and down the river and canal. Pitches are a mixed size, we had a pitch that you could fit 3 Motorhomes on but also saw a Motorhome that just managed to get on its pitch, so make sure you get there early. Rated 6/10

Day 42

Well here, sadly for our last night in France, staying at Chateau Gandspette in Eperlecques (Camp Cheques 31)

A very popular site as only 30 km from Calais so a great site for your 1st or last stop, although you could quite easily stay here for several days as it is a well cared for site with bar, a popular restaurant that does good takeaways at a reasonable price, wifi, swimming pool and tennis court.

You should pre book this site if going as it has a big turnover although we managed to get in without booking, but I guess you take that chance

Rated 9/10.

Distance covered approx 2350 miles
