Ninian
Hi, Has anyone any ideas how to soften it with a solution so it can be removed. Someone has put it around the exterior locker doors. Thanks.
Billggski
If it's sikaflex or similar you will have to cut it off, it's made to last.
Derek Uzzell
There are plenty of mastic solvents on the market (some pretty aggressive), but effective removal will depend on the type of material involved. This caravantalk discussion refers http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/topic/50927-removing-mastic/ As Bill advises, if a constructional adhesive/sealant (eg. Sikaflex-512 Caravan) has been used and the stuff has adhered properly to the surfaces it’s used on, once the adhesive has cured only ‘mechanical’ methods (eg. cutting and scraping) will remove it.
