howie
Still taking advantage of my innocence Mel. ;-) . Hope you,re enjoying that new van of yours. We,ve had ours for nearly four years now and just starting to think about changing it. Most probably go for something on a Transit base this time. *-)

Mel B
Must say, Howie, we are very impressed by our Transit base vehicle, it drives very well and is a very nice cab and the cab heater is fantastic (sorry for the pun!). In the Rapido (Fiat) which had a heat exchanger so we could have heat in the rear of the van, even though it was lovely, we did feel the chill when taking it down to RDH to change it for the new beastie. The Fiat cab was a draughty place to be and the heater was totally useless so it was a good job it had the rear heater. Whilst going down to the NEC last Friday night and being stuck in a ruddy traffic jam for ages, we were lovely and toastie in the Transit and it only has the cab heater. I was quite worried about giving up our Rapido's rear heater but can quite honestly say that my fears were unfounded as it soon warmed up and even I was turning it down ... totally unheard of previously!!! :-S

howie
Hi Mel. I drive my brother in laws A/S Transit now and then and always feel slightly disappointed when I get back into the Fiat. There,s something about the Ford cab that makes me feel cosseted and relaxed whereas the Fiat has that souless efficiency about it. No complaints about the Fiat heating though, and I find the drive a lot more refined and responsive than the Ford. Still early days yet about changing the van, but as i,ve said before, we will know the van we want as soon as we step into it. I know i,ve always sung the praises of a single duel purpose vehicle, but since i,ve been driving this little Fiesta my thoughts are now turning back to having a coachbuilt once more. Always nice going through the mags and dreaming ahead and we,ll see whats on offer at the shows this summer.

howie
That was always the source of countless arguments years ago Wayne when the kids were forever on the computor doing their homework and what have you while the rest of us were either waiting to make or take a call on the phone. Having you on line 24hrs a day is something that we all look forward to and we,ll all be counting down the days until the end of March with mounting exitement and anticipation. This should give you time to sort out your smilies and no more signing off as no8. 8-)

Wingpete
Nice morning. Sun shining with few high clouds scudding across the sky.Watching the pai of jays seeking a nest site in the several trees around the garden. Competing with the magpies, who lost their nest tree on Jan 19th. The gale blew down the magnificient hawthorn tree they had use for many years. Anyone want some logs, free ! The bluetits are flitting around the feeding containers, sharing with robins and wrens. Now I see the green parrotkeets are sizing up the old hollow plum tree, which woodpeckers opened up. They like the hole in the main trunk, as they can get in it easily. Now all I have to do is frighten off them darn feral pigeons which Ken Livingstone excluded from Trafalgar Sq. They keep raiding the bird table and seed containers. Every time I get up to have a shot at them, they fly off. They have learned to scatter when I appear at the window. Fox will be here in a mo', as his food bowl has been replenished with Sainsbury's best dog food. That's my partner's ploy, to get the family closer to befriend them. At present, they are looking good and healthy. Oh well, must get on with other things, before the day disapears again.
David Dwight
Hi Wingpete, Dont get too attached to the Fox especially if you have a dog. If a Fox has the Mange, your dog could catch it from goling where the Fox has been, it is a horrible death and the Vets wont be able to do anything for the Dog. We have only a small garden but lots fo birds, frogs and hedgehogs. We have a Westie he loves Hedgehogs disembowels them and scatters the remains all over the Garden. Gots quite a bit of frogs spawn in the pond. David

Wingpete
Pets become a restriction on various episodal journies. I have no pets nowadays, so I can get away at the drop of a hat. However, those who keep pets are to be admired, as they keep the petfood shops and supermarket shelves busy, and generate income for someone.
