ips
Does anyone know if you can "easily" walk to the Boat jetty either at the cat bells side (the walkers ferry boat) or the one at the Ashness bridge side (Near the mary mount) in order to get a boat into the town ? Tracker
Really? I thought that part of their job was to respond to and satisfy members enquiries?
Robinhood
I'm assuming you mean the CC "Borrowdale" site at Manesty. Well. it all depends what you mean by easy, but there is now a relatively good footpath all the way round the Cat Bells side, which passes the landing stage (this one was out of service earlier in the year as it was damaged by wind/flooding, but I suspect it will have been fixed by now). A hundred yards or so down the road (towards Grange) from the site will bring you to the footpath start. (though there may be a back way off the site). The landing stage at Mary Mount is much the same, (probably shorter, and from the same starting point) though there will be a short walk along the road past The Lodore Hotel. This particular path tends to get flooded if the lake is (very) high, though it has improved.

Not all wardens are unhelpful - in fact in our experience with both club's sites very few were - mind you we have not used a club site in over 10 years! Robinhood
...just to clarify - it was the landing stage out of service, not the path ;-) (there's also a bus service from Grange to Keswick, and the road into Grange is usually quiet enough to walk).
