malc d
Can anyone recommend any campsites along the Loire ( to the west of Tours ) with good access for cycling alongside the river ? Just looking for somewhere to stop off for a couple of days on the way further south. Thanks
Chris PegasusFinance
The Parc de Fierbois is worth a look ( http://www.fierbois.com/en/parc-de-fierbois ) Good facilities, near the river route and you can rent bikes as need. Hope this helps!

EMS
There is good guide for cycling along the Loire valley with of café, camp sites and train stations if you wish to extend the day trip. Have a look on the "www.af3v.org/-Itineraires-Eurovelo-en-France-.html" web site, I think the book may be in French but it should be easy to understand the information on the maps. Friends mentioned it to me a while ago as they used the guide, this year they are cycling along the Canal du Midi, whilst using their motor home. peter21
Try Camping Le Thouet...lovely rural site on a tributary of the Loire, with a great cycle ride to Saumur. We've stayed there twice now. It's a low key, informal, site set amongst vineyards. See our blog for pics of the cycle ride. http://peterandnia.com/2012/10/06/cycling-to-saumur/ malc d - 2014-08-14 11:01 AM Can anyone recommend any campsites along the Loire ( to the west of Tours ) with good access for cycling alongside the river ?
