starvin marvin
I understand that until 14th Oct '14 some types of winter and all year round tyres are not allowed on Italian roads. This covers various speed ratings. I've picked this this up from my owners club, apparently there is a fine between 419E & 1,682E plus possible impounding for breach of these regs. The clubs source is Campingrevue Switzerland. What happens after 14/10 goodness only knows! Presumably its summer tyres until 14/10 then possibly winter tyres and/or summer tyres and then back to summer only tyres sometime in the spring??? Who was it who said in Italy .... everything is impossible, and everything is possible.... Any further info out there? It just sounds bizarre. Billggski
I think this is actually to do with speed ratings, not winter tyres. You are not allowed to fit a tyre with a speed rating lower than that specified by the manufacturer except after the 14th October, when you are expected to fit winter tyres in northern regions. Italian to German to English translation!
Guest JudgeMental
Italians tend to have a healthy attitude to authority........They simply ignore it! :-D
