m623d
My Dad has the C2006EH heater in his new motorhome, however there is a strong smell of burning plastic when on the 60c setting for hotwater only. This only happens when on electric, not gas, and it has had the modification for smell when on gas. Any ideas?
chris
Truma are recalling some models. You had better check on their website. I emailed them and had a reply within 2 days

m623d
Thanks, but the recall is for a smell on gas and this only does it on electric. It has been back and the truma mod was already done.
Globetrotter
My understanding was that this recall was for the possibility of overheating wiring, which would produce the symptoms you describe....? (But I've been wrong before!!) :-D
peter lambert
Our motorhome is 13 months old and has just had the Truma mod done. Just done 17 days in France and the heater still smells a bit when first heating up from cold. Perhaps we will just have to put up with it and open a window. m623d
I think the mod is for the gas cowl that gets too hot when on gas.
V6Jim
Ours is gas only, and smells a bit when working hard. A plasticky smell it is too.....Seemed to get better after a short while. Jimmy
