mikejkay Posted October 13, 2014 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Does anyone have a rear view camera that uses a double DIN AV system for the display and cantell me if they can use the audio part i.e. radio/CD while the display shows the rear view. Robinhood Posted October 13, 2014 Share Posted October 13, 2014 ...mine most certainly continues to deliver the radio signal if the camera display is enabled by engaging reverse. Different units may be different, but individual "switching" of image is common. As mine is also a Satnav, for instance, it has to deliver a different image to the radio tuning screen when I'm using navigation (but the radio still plays). With a camera input the music will continue to play (though any touch-screen controls will be unavailable), With an A/V input, any source playing will be "overridden". I have decided to go with your solution of using a switch to select which camera input I view but I did not think that we had addressed the problem of whether a particular unit would display a rear view, from whichever camera, while still allowing the radio or a CD to be played.
