cocktail
We are planning to purchase a Motorhome in England early next year, and spend 1-2 years traveling around England and Europe. I'm a bit confused about the weight restrictions and licence requirements. I have a British standard car licence (we lived in England for a while a few years ago). I think we are allowed to drive a Motorhome up to 3500 KG, but I don't understand if this includes payload. Is there a simple set of rules or is it dependant and type and size of motorhome. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, (PS. this is my first time on any forum so forgive if I haven't done this right).
Southender
The first question is ..... when did you pass your driving test ? The cut off date is 1st January 1997. Basically before that date you can drive up to 7,500 Kg GVW on a standard car licence. After that date you are restricted to 3,500 Kg GVW. GVW = Gross Vehicle Weight.
