Shower hanging rail ... beware

We have an autotrail cheyene which is fitted with a stainless steel hanging rail in the shower. whilst in the process of hanging up the shower mat this rail fell from it's brackets and due to the weight of the rail has made a large hole in the shower tray. The cost of a new tray is £158 and to have the said new tray fitted is about £550....... a very expensive mishap. It is possible to avoid this before it happens by fitting a plastic equivelant in place of the very heavy stainless steel rail fitted by the manufacturers.
