That's a sensible amount to spend and it should give you plenty of choice, although you will perhaps see most dealers stocking more expensive ones. If you look on EBay, where ots lof classified adverts are placed these days, you will be able to browse through a wide selection.

Don;t expect to get it right frist time, so maybe aim to spend less than your full budget immediately, so you will still have money left to choose from experience once you have accumulated some.

Things like how much room you have to store you MH at home and whether you need to keep small enough to be able to use it as an everyday vehicle will be important considerations.

If you have the space and don't need to use it as an everyday vehicle, don;t be frightened of going for an A Class. An early 1990s MH like this one will be worth considering:

Or for more money this One:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hymer-B544-5-berth-motorhome-for-sale-/111485707147?pt=UK_Campers_Caravans_Motorhomes&hash=item19f510e38b

I've just quickly chosen two which are German made (and well made) but there is a big choice. Don;t be frightened of at least trying left hand drive because many prefer it and it will open up your options widely.

Go to the homepage, click on the buying guide and have a read through.

You will get some useful, impartial advice on the forum, but a lot of opiniated views, normally extolling the virtues of whatever the poster already has.

This is a good time to buy, and you will have time to sort out any niggles, but the enemy is DAMP. Get a habitation check, £100 or so. Dealers will charge you more than private, and you should get a guarantee.

Look at lots, consider your needs, and accept that it will never tick all the boxes. Low mileage is irrelevant, the van bases are built for high mileages, and don't like standing still over long periods.
