Tracker
As far as I know you do not get to choose your own VED rate. The van is light goods and it is £225.00 a year until Uncle George increases it again. This tells all - https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables
tomboy99
ok great, just to confirm this is the LGV tax class 39. So emissions don't matter when taxing a van? Tom
colin
You CofC will/might have emissions, if so and this is entered on V5 you will be charged accordingly, if not it will be £225. Ours was 220, but never listed

(lol) Ah - glad you spotted that deliberate mistake Sargent Lenny - shoulda quoted PLG rates not LG - with so many vehicles to tax, mot, insure, service and fill with fuel I lose track of what I am paying and when I am paying it! AlanS
Also depends on the weight of the motorhome. If the weight is above 3500 kg then ii is classed as a PHG (Private Heavy Goods) and then we only pay £165 per year. Alan
bigrab1888
Lower speed limits though :-(
Keithl
bigrab1888 - 2014-12-14 8:44 PM Lower speed limits though :-( Not necessarily! Lower speed limits only apply if your UNLADEN weight exceeds 3,050 kg and not on your GVW/MTPLM. This is historical and is based on an unladen weight of three imperial tons, hence 3,050 kg. For example our MH has a GVW/MTPLM of 3,800 kg but an unladen weight of 2,960 kg and so IS NOT restricted to lower speed limits. Keith.
