tonyg3nwl
Hi folks, I am thinking about trying to change my existing bike rack and fitting one of the carry/lift type for electric bikes. my van has rear kitchen window, and it seems that the fitting instructions suggest that the carry lift is to be fitted on a van which has a plain rear wall. I have asked fiamma direct by customer service, twice, but no reply. can anyone provide any reason or otherwise that it can or not be done existing bike rack is fitted below the kitchen window, but loading the bikes requires a higher than comfortable lift.a windup lifting mechanism would be a great help. comments please .. tonyg3nwl. bigrab1888
Hi, I have the same carry/lift 77 with a back lounge window it just fixes above in locker and below under seat. Straddles the window no problem, cuts down the view a bit though but it winds down low. Check the weight capacity also.
Huckleberry
Hi, I also have the carry lift fitted. My van is a Rapido with a small rear sliding window and the rack fits over it. I carry two bikes and have covered many miles mainly in Europe with no problems so far. Try to make sure that the fixing is not immediately underneath any camera because there will be almost no view! Most manufacturers provide drawings of suitable fixing points for cycle racks. Rodger
