tonyishuk
jonnybravo - 2015-01-15 1:36 PM i am going to change my plans for spring bank this year going to south of France (perpignan, beziers area)for 2 weeks but will spend 3 days getting there and 3 days back and average the mileage out to 350 miles per day and will add an extra week onto our 1 week trip to Cornwall in July as now not going at Easter ! john Don't know if you have thought of a route yet, but common wisdom seems to avoid Paris and go via Rouen then drop down across country towards Blois and then onto the Autoroutes / Peage. Brian will probably recommend a route, or have a play with Viamichen routes chosing the caravan option. We stop just south of Blois, then North of Toulouse in the Cahors area. Surprisingly fron Verson to Perpignan the distant is very little differnt taking either of the routes that split at Version south. Rgds
jonnybravo
i have not put a detailed route plan together yet but have done a basic plan around average mileage and what look like decent stopover sites, pretty new to motor homing and not drove in France before so don't really know if this is best route so again any advice is appreciated, day 1 Sheffield to saint Quentin via tunnel (booked for 10.50 crossing) overnight at a c&c site then day 2 saint Quentin to a castels site near macon then day 3 to destination in canet en roussillon 5 nights there then up to a site near beziers for another 5 nights return journey from beziers to a castels site north of clermont ferrand (over milau viaduct) next day to a kawan site just north of abbeville last night there then on tunnel (12.50 crossing booked) and home. the plan is based on staying overnight at what look like good site with facilities for kids and trying to average the mileage out to 300 to 350 a day ! john
Deanroofing
When we go down to the south of France, near Bezier, going over on the ferry we arrive 9.30-10am Calais, we head for a nice Aire in Bourge with water and waste dump, there is also a municipal site there, nice little town as well, arrive 4-5pm. Set of 7-7.30am next day arrive Vendre Plage 11.30-12pm we use tolls all the way though, average 65 mph And it doesn't seem a chore neither.
