StuartO
Yes, we used it a couple of times last year. Level gravel with a born and a (free) modern toilet. Quiet when we were there in low season, including overnight but it's next to the Town's Bowls Area, so that kicks off early on Sunday morning. A very good overnight transit stop to get away from Calais and the Town is by no means unattractive.
PatLynn
Thanks for that Stuart , is it an easy approach too ?
Zydeco Joe
Used the aire on Monday last week all as normal that is quiet. To access the site its easier to go from the far end of town, drive towards the centre over the mini island by the garage 200 meters turn right the aire 50 meters on left. Not up the hill through the arch over the cobble stones ... Have used this spot 5 or 6 times in the last couple of years if you do take a walk around the town walls the views are nice plus the town has a few shops and a market with fresh veg etc. Please Don't do what the numpty who was on it last week and block the drive over grey water drain by parking next to the borne, loads of space we park just like the locals at 90 degrees to the boules pitch up by the low fence. Have fun.
StuartO
Pat&Lynn - 2015-01-22 6:06 PM Thanks for that Stuart , is it an easy approach too ? I agree with the above, if you are approaching from Calais drive beyond the Aire and then come back up to it. This saves negotiating the cosy Town Centre. The turn into the small road on which the Aire lies (as described, only 50-100m up on the left) is a bit inconspicuous and you almost think you might be turning into a gap between houses but it opens up and there is no problem getting even a large MH with a trailer in there.
