jpg
This is my first Motor Home and it is coming up to 2 years old. I am returning it to Auto Trail for the habitation check and just wondered if anyone could recommend who to use for the service on the Fiat in Kingston Upon Hull if possible? Brock
Sorry jpg but cannot recommend anyone in Hull; wrong side of the country for me! I presume you have looked in your service book and/or visited Fiat Camper's website to find a service outlet. If so, you will probably pick up a name or two and then be able to check out the websites and ask if anyone has used them. You need to look for a dealer that is experienced in dealing with low mileage vehicles such as motorhomes e.g. Camper UK at Lincoln. I would also recommend you take your V5C registration certificate unless it has already been displayed to a Fiat dealer in the past and recorded on the system. Fiat garages will not do warranty work without sight and recording of the document.
Billggski
Just a point about the service, if you search "fuel filter" on this site you will find the number of members who have had leaks after a service, even at main dealers. The consensus is, even after two years, tell them to leave it alone.
dicksob
I got the detailed list of all Fiat Professional dealers from the Fiat website, truck and van specialists so should have plenty of space/height. If you can't find it just shout, I'll check when I get home this evening. On the fuel filter, wish I'd known about this before, they changed mine at its service, 18 months/10000 miles, no leaks at the moment, but a pricy item! Billggski
Filter between £9 and £20, complete housing including filter £61, about ten minute job. But I've seen the same unit for £150 and the minimum time at a main dealer is half an hour at over £100 an hour.
dicksob
Billggski, yes charge was about £60 plus labour, charged at £85 an hour, was the only surprise item on the bill. Got full service done, rather than just oil and filter, and there was a recall for the turbo which I hadn't read about before. Bill
jpg
Thanks Brock It was a private sale, from Wales. I know Hull have Fiat servicing garages, always like to use recommendations though. I think your advice, enforces my thoughts too.....although its a FIAT it isnt a working TRUCK which is why I didn't want to take it to any servicing garage. Many Thanks John
jpg
Thanks Bill I do have the FIAT list, and I also pass the garage everyday, that they recommend......very much a commercial vehicle centre though. I rang them and asked if they serviced Motor Homes on a FIAT.....whoever I spoke to didn't know and had to ring me back after finding out. Yes they do was the answer...my thoughts are that they cant do many or the receptionist is new? Although its a FIAT it isn't a working TRUCK, which is why I was hoping to get a recommendation from someone local. Many Thanks John
jpg
I will bear that in mind, thanks. It has only done 8000 miles so I am sure can't warrant replacing.
