alan
Hi I have been warned by my local VW agent that I will soon need a new turbo, quoting some eye-watering price. Has anyone had any experience of main dealers in France or Spain and their comparative prices with the UK, bearing in mind the exchange rate, and will they stamp the service book accordingly that it has been done by a main agent? Thanks in anticipation... Alan
rolandrat
I would have it replaced before going abroad if you have been made aware of its condition. To have it done over the water could involve a mega delay obtaining spare parts and then followed up with an eye watering bill. It could end up spoiling your holiday. Better to get it done before you go, better safe than sorry! PJay

gocro
Parts do not have to be fitted by VW dealer but any VAT registered garage or mechanic using OEM parts to comply with any warranty and will be significantly cheaper.
