Engine Oil for 2008 Ducato with 2.2JTD 100 multijet engine

I've read a few threads about appropriate engine oils but these have all related to the 2.3 130 multijet engine. I think I'm right in saying mine is a Ford-based engine. Having seen comments saying that 5w30 oil is fine, it doesn't need to be 5w40 as specified in the manual, would the following be alright for my engine?

Viscol 5w30 fully synthetic low saps oil which it states meets or exceeds the ASEA A3/B4 specification

Thanks for your help

That would be fine.

Strictly speaking although it is a PSA/Ford engine it is the Fiat specification of 5W40 that you should adhere to but since this has since changed to 5W30 on later vehicles that are mechanically similar you should have no problems. You don't need a low saps oil but you won't do any harm using it and it may now be cheaper to buy low saps oil than fully synthetics that are not because production of this oil is now ramped up to the max and the market is more competitive.
