das316
I have a ford mondeo with a curb weight of 1300Kg aprox but a tow limit of 1500Kg but according to the new guide lines my towing capacity should be 1100Kg aprox. We are new to caravaning though I have towed thing before with my car and the caravan we are thinking of buying has a MTPLM of 1184 and a MRO of 972. will this be OK to tow with this car as we are totaly confused
jaywalkerwalks
you have a mondeo with a kerb weight of 1300 kg to find the recomended ratio of 85% you should subtract 15% from the 1300=1105kg. The van you fancy is too heavy, However the mondeo is an excelent tow car and towing at 1184 kg should not be too mutch of a problem for it provided you stick to the recomended nose weight and use a stabiliser. Have fun. :D
