p0930
Around the inside of my windows is a grey plastic trim which appears to have shrunk and pulled out of the corners. Does anyone have a method of replacing this trim please?

globebuster
If it's easy to remove, put it in some hot water for 20 minutes. Doing that it will regain flexibility and will probably restore its original length if you stretch it whilst still warm. Obviously the success of this will depend on the type/thickness of material..... This warming up either by immersion in hot water, or by heat gun, is common practise when installing insert trims in marine applications
Tracker
The reason it shrinks is because either it was applied too warm or stretched or both when originally fitted. To avoid that fit any new trim as cool as will remain flexible and leave an inch or so overlap then leave it for a day or two to settle, preferably somewhere warm, and refit to remove any gaps that might appear before trimming to size. If refitting used trim and it is flexible enough, try to reposition the join where it is least visible. If it's white or brown trim, silicone can be used to make up the gap where it should join. tonyg3nwl
Hi, we had this problem on a previous caravan. We purchased a strip of trim from local van repair agent, and then remove the window catches and recovered the longest piece of existing trim. It was originally fitted in 2 pieces. we then used a combination of pieces and ensured that the joins between them was hidden by refitting the window catches over the joins. tonyg3nwl
globebuster
That's not the reason it shrinks - but obviously my expertise in this field would appear somewhat wasted. I won't bother to go into detail......I don't have the time.
