boxer1
I took the omnivent from my MH to reseal it. When cleaning it the hood came off at the hinge. When I tried to refit it it will not hold the hood it pulls out. The hinge is a strip of aluminium with groves. The hood has raised areas that fit into the groves. The vent would be approx 12yr old. I am not sure if I am fitting it the right way but it does look correct due wear and dirt on it. Would there be fitting and repair instructions out there. I have surfed the net and can find nothing. I do not think there is anything wrong with the hood or hinge it may be the way that I am fitting it . Boxer1
Derek Uzzell
I also can’t find anything on-line that would help you with why your Omni-Vent’s hood won’t attach properly to the hinge. Suggest you try asking an Omni-Vent supplier (for example) http://www.omnistorawnings.co.uk/department/omni-vent_spares/ just in case there’s a trick to connecting the hood to hinge. From the diagrams it looks like the front edge of the hood just locates into a slot in the hinge. Have you tried connecting the hood to the hinge with the hood at various angles (eg. with the hood vertical or even tilted forward)?
