The illegals are still around city europ, one of our coaches stopped there last week, Our driver on checking the coach before leaving found 3 of them tucked away in the engjne compartment. The atmosphere in and around Calais is high and tense since the abduction and murder of a local 9 year old last week by a polish imigrant.

Lets hope something good comes from it, and the French NOW do something about getting rid of the illegals, instead of just saying we should help.

why are you automatically equating "bandits" with migrants I wonder 8-)

If concerned stay elsewhere, lots of choice outside Calais.....

We don't stay in Calais after arriving as we like to get a few miles under our belt and stay on a picnic aire after a hour our two's driving.

However, when leaving the next morning we always stay at Cité Europe as it's very convenient and great for last-minute shopping.

We used it about a month ago and as usual had no problem. You're surrounded by other motorhomes who'll keep an eye on your 'van if you both want to go for a meal of to shop.

Illegal immigrants aren't interested in motorhomes. They try to get into lorries and other large vehicles and we have never had a single problem.

I think that the threat is greatly exaggerated by those of an over-cautious or nervous disposition.

She could of used an insulting or untrue name I suppose Edward

If the moderators aren't concerned with the bandit description or think it's not insulting in these highly policed times we find ourselves in then you need not show concern , it's safe .

Sorry Anthony but this is blatant racism, tarring all with the same brush? assuming that all migrants are thieves and robbers when all most want is a ride. Nothing I have seen supports this prejudice.

Not after an argument Eddie neither do I want the thread pulled

I don't think the original comment is racist and neither do I believe the poster to be a racist

I think it was meant as just one of those throw away comments that unfortunately in the PC world we live in is not acceptable to some ... Your offended , I'm not , I suppose that's what makes us all different and we can thank The Lord for that

The Media in general produce eye popping headlines to grab our attention and its so easy for us posters to follow suit. Media headlines also aggravate the reader causing us to retaliate, that's the intention of the marketing organisers to cause the public disquiet. (Disgruntled people buy more goods, as I'm always saying).

Maybe we should all tone down our headlines?

I suppose you don't regard your idol Farage as a Capitalist then?. With him being an ex stockbroker. :-S

Idol?......The only idol I worship is idleness ;-) ............UKIP and Farage is a tool for us floaters who try to have some influence on the direction us British folk, who not ashamed of being British would like our politics go ;-) .........

Sadly because our voters have in general lacked the imagination to vote outside their comfort zone for decades, we have ended up with the indigenous population getting used to they're wishes coming second to the establishment and the EU :-| ..........

  • 2 weeks later...

So you believe that the most of the other British voters are stupid and that only UKIP voters are intelligent?

You are free to have your political opinions but I do not believe that they should be exhibited so openly in a forum such as this.

I am only a newcomer in "Motorhome Matters" but I believe that your strapline is out of place here.

It would also been out of place if it had said "vote labour" or whatever party you chose to support.

Hope you have a pleasant time in good old Europe wherever that may be.

Well said, there's more than one person on here who pushes an agenda (or even two or three) with every post that they make. And you'll soon work out who's intelligent and who isn't. Personally, I don't think that anyone who doesn't understand the difference between they're (they are) and their (possessive pronoun) should be allowed a vote! It's not really that difficult to understand. *-)

Presume your talking about Daves post made before yours ?

Your new here and I'm not sure if your aware of the very high moderation we currently have on the site

Dave's post made on the 22nd April , seen by those in charge I'm sure and I presume not thought to be out of place

Therefore I feel your concern is not needed

In reply to judge. You are 100 percent correct.the immergrants at calais do want a ride.a free ride off the backs of UK tax payers. I think that people with your views have lead to this once great country becoming the nightmare it is now.my partner works in the NHS and is watching first hand the total joy these immergrants bring to the UK.NOT.

Briefly. My husband is an immigrant who has worked tirelessly for the NHS for 40 years. My daughter in law to be is an immigrant.Originally from Peru she is a solicitor who was recruited for her experience and the fact that she speaks fluently Peruvian, Spanish, French, English and German.

My son is an emigrant/immigrant to South Africa where he is building up a successful business, employing South African nationals and putting money into their economy.

Our own history, think India, America, Australia New Zealand shows that we were not exactly stay at homes.

Finally Nigel Farrage (UKIP) says we owe a huge burden of debt to the Christians in the middle east and we should take them in.

Which is why the Australian points system makes so much sense B-) ...........as opposed to the EU's open door system, which has allowed our labour market to be flooded with cheap labour, who have suppressed the wages of the low paid, along with taking their jobs :-| ..........

Farage is also right in saying our/EU's meddling in the middle East has exacerbated the migrant crisis *-)......

Your husband is immigration at its best Poppy and no one with half a brain could say differently ... The open door policy of immigration we have and so loved by Tony and Gordon for me is different

Like Gordon calling that old lass a bigot we also have one or two on here who say the same and worse to scare or shame folk into keeping quiet when immigration comes up ... Free speech n all that
