Will86
The last time I visited France there were none. In June I'm acting as backup to my grandson and his mates as they cycle from Monaco to Dover including part of the Alps to test the 'Le tour de France route' Please advise what legal items are required. I only use one Lloyds CC and one DC. I'm not anticipating driving at night. I do have. Yellow jacket Fire extinguisher Please fill in the remainder. Food is no problem with cash but buying fuel maybe. Will

malc d
Warning triangles - in case of breakdown ( preferably two ). Spare pair of driving glasses useful ( mandatory in Spain - but recommended in France ). Yellow high viz jacket to be carried inside the car, and NOT in the boot. :-| Note that the E111 health card mentioned by kelly58 is now the EHIC card. starvin marvin
Breathalyser kit is not reqd in France, and only one warning triangle is necessary, I always carry spare bulb kit. Spare specs if worn for driving are reqd and I think fire extinguisher and 1st aid kit. I guess we all carry this stuff anyway.
Derek Uzzell
Compulsory equipment for motorists travelling in France (and in other Euopean countries) can be found here http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/compulsory_equipment.pdf http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/overseas/compulsory_equipment.html It will be noted that - for France - legally you don’t need to carry a first-aid kit, a fire extinguisher nor spare bulbs (though carrying all of these items can’t be bad). derek500
GB sticker is NOT compulsory IF your licence plate has the European logo and country ID. Lots of money wasted on supposedly compulsory stickers.
Derek Uzzell
That’s fully covered in Note 5 of the AA ‘compulsory equipment’ listing.
