As you said earlier....

"But to digress and it's a serious question, you go to this place for three months, yet, as far as I'm aware, you have no car or motorbike and from your photos your encampment seems to be a permanent set-up."

The answer is simple ;-) ..............We don't have a behemoth :D ..........I can disconnect the plumbing and be off the pitch in less than 5 mins B-) ............and we go for a run at least once a fortnight, up to the Jalon valley, or along to Moria, those of us who have been know what a lovely bit of coast it is ;-) ..........

Given the choice between a cold damp Northumberland or Calpe in March I know where I'd rather be, and seeing as the site is always full its not just me who prefers Dale Farm esq Calpe (lol) ...........

I think that most people would rather be in Spain in March than in Northumberland, but not all people have the choice, especially families with working parents who have limited holidays, or motorhomers who likewise can't go away for weeks at a time.

The next time perhaps you could consider this?

Ps Dale Farm was full as well.

Alright for some when they can inherit an estate because their ancestors stole it hundreds of years ago, then charge the plebs that sort of money to park on it? If the Tories or UKIP have their way they will abolish inheritance tax altogether. Can understand the Travellers thinking 'just sod them we'll park on it anyway?

Absolutely right - why would anyone want to get off their own backside and work and plan ahead to create wealth and security for themselves and their families when it is so much easier to call yourself a victim and take the easy route of leeching and scrounging off of others who you deem to me unjustifiably more fortunate.

Why don't we all do it and pretty soon there would be no law enforcement and what a pretty site the coast and country would be? So maybe these wealthy families that were in the right place at the right time all those years ago have not done such a bad job of preserving much or our heritage after all?

Or maybe nationalise the entire country then we will all be equal in theory but there will always be those more equal than others, mainly party members in place of land owners - perish the thought!

Perfect it ain't, but are the alternatives any better in the cold harsh reality of real life?

I am still trying to make sense of that diatribe.

If you are saying people should get off their backside and create wealth if they can instead of leeching off others I agree wholeheartedly - thats what I have done for myself. I'm a worker and proud of it.

I believe in free market capitalism - but thats not what we have got is it?

How is someone who inherited a vast estate because some ancestor of theirs gave sexual favours to the monarch 500 years ago a wealth creator?

How is pumping up housing costs, and housing benefit costs, wit the strictest planning regulations and taxpayer subsidies, anything to do with free market capitalism?

What we have got is more like socialism for landlords
