horts
I have a Truma Ultrastore Rapid in mt VW LT van. It was an upgrade made by the previous owner. As far as I can see it has been correctly installed. I follow the instructions to fill the tank, i.e. make sure the valve is closed, turn on the taps to hot, turn on the pump until water flows from the taps and the air stops. I then turn on the 240v element and it stays on for 5 mins or so then it trips the RCD, if I give it 5 mins the safety cutoff on the Truma resets and it will work again. It is like the Truma isn't full and the element is overheating. I could try the gas but I'm wary to do so unless I can confirm the Truma is full of water. If water is flowing from the hot taps does this definetly mean the Truma is full? Any other thoughts or ideas?
lennyhb
Yes if water is flowing out the hot taps you can be fairly confident the boiler is full. The coldwater inlet is about half way up the tank & the hot water outlet is at the top so you can not get water out the hot taps unless the boiler is full, assuming it has been installed correctly. pepe63xnotuse
..I suppose, as it's been "upgraded" by a previous owner, if he was a "fettler", he may have also fitted a bypass loop & tap(s)?.... :-S Can you actually hear it filling the boiler...?
