Fionadb1
Now the proud owner of motorhome, new to us, but it isn't! The hob glass is a split one, but badly scratched, tried builder rouge, T. Cut and zero result. Methinks I will have to replace it, any ideas you clever people, where source a new one? Quite fancy smoked glass, would look very fetching! ;-) by the way B Hymer 675sl 2009. starvin marvin
The place for Hymer spares is Brownhills Newark, try speaking to Darren Leadbetter, he is the guru, no kidding. You could also look at joining the Hymer owners club, £15/yr, the website is HCI, for Hymer Club International. Loads of info and support. Good hunting, from another Hymer owner. Dave225
See if you can see the make of the actual hob itself. Sometimes the glass panels are available, but if one is scratched you may need to replace both, to make it look right. If push really comes to shove you may be able to buy a new hob. Expensive I know but at least then you would have something to be proud of.
PJay
Cut a piece of non slip matting to size and keep that on the glass. I do this, makes it better to out things on, when not in use. Much cheaper than replacing. just for scratches. I know that the van is new to you, but don't waste money on little things, unless you really have to. That way you don't have to worry about further scratches. Just enjoy your new toy, and go out and have a good time in it. PJay
goldi
Afternoon folks, the glass broke on my smev grill and it finished up costing About £90 to fix it and that is doing it myself. I also thought the grill was abit of a deadloss anyway. norm
PeteH
Hi Try:- http://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk/. He carries a lot of ex manufacturer Stock. You never know? I had a full oven/hob out of Him to replace the useless American Hob in an R-V I used to have before I got to 70!!. Pete
Robinhood
...as Dave's post above, the best starting position is to determine the make and model of the hob. (It is likely to be a Dometic/Cramer, or Smev) Then browse one of the regularly used spares website for the part. I often use Leisureshopdirect to identify parts from their "exploded diagrams", but Leisurespares are another decent supplier. It is unlikely to be cheap! Will86
Diamonds on ladies rings are often the cause of hob scratches.
