Vixter
When we fill our freshwater tank we are fed-up with a) wasting water and b) getting wet feet, because our hose never seems to make a good seal in the tank. The Other Half seems to think he has seen someone removing their tank cap and screwing on a cap complete with a Hozelock-type snap-on connector...sounds brilliant - or had he been inhaling the odours from our black water tank again? Has anyone got one of these gizmos, if so - where can we get one?
carebear
We use a gadget bought from, WWW.gillonsgadgets.co.uk Fresh water coupler. ordered on the phone and online, very trusting people for this day and age its a try before you buy more or less if you like. Pay when you receive it. The fitting for our Kontiki which sits in the filler hole is an attatchment to the hose fitting with a black foam sleeve holding it in place, in the hole. Bought this quite some time back, last year sometime, and then this year they made an extra part which you can add to fill say from a bottle, if you were not in reach of a tap. robin
Heosafe make them - there are two types, one for if you have a breather on your tank, and one if you don't and Outdoor bits sell them. http://www.outdoorbits.com/index.php/cPath/12 B-)

carebear
Hi We replaced the sensor a few weeks backs £67. We were constantly 100% full. We have a 2003 model.
Mel B
We use a normal hose end, the pointy one that you just twist, just stick it in the filler with it in the 'open' postion, then turn the water on at the tap slowly until it is fully on, no problem, only if we turn it on too quickly does it jump out like a mad snake! When we can't use the hose we have a collapsible bucket and a black plastic funnel with a long bendy stem - the sort that you can get for £1.00 and is meant for filling fuel tanks etc. For the number of times we use it I don't worry about it not being food grade plastic, likewise the bucket - in Germany they were God-sends as we couldn't get the hose to stay on the the tap and kept getting a free cold shower whilst trying. chas
We thought of getting a hose connection tap filler cap, but at £15+ pp deceided it was not worth it, we have differant tap connecters and hoses, but have settled for a 5gallon water container and a submersable pump which connects into a 12v point just down from the water inlet. After trying to hold other containers up in the air to fill its a far better option, taking the water container on the 2 wheeled dolly which is also used for the toilet cassette is no problem if we cant get near a water tap. Easy or what! Chas
robin
We carry a watering can with the rose removed for when the hose won't do. Simple, cheap and effective (if you have the space).
Norma
I cracked it this year. We use and ordinary hose and put it in as far as possible. Use another piece (about 4-6 inches long) stuff it in next to the hose and the filling hose stays in place. No flying back out and soaking and cheaper than the adapter. carolh
we always get wet feet too, no matter how you hold the hose - it always splashed out - I took the nozzle off the other day - still got wet feet! We too have a submersible pump socket on the outside and a pump, so I have bought a 10 litre collapsable bucket - got it off ebay - its a treat, as big as a thick plate, it can go in the gas bottle locker with the rest of the cr*p - ramps, tow rope, mallett, warning triangle and of course the gas bottles (lol) Carol
