sakofox
I am sure you all have your own checklist for packing the MH and one for leaving a site. We had one when we were away with the pony and carriage, but we did not have the habitation or the technology to worry about, so my question is.... Has anyone got their checklist that the could email me so as a newbie I have a starting point to create my own. Or you could write it in a reply here ...your choice . Email: information@rustic-crafts.co.uk Many thanks
Brock
Hi Duncan. I've never used a checklist! Mentally, we do walk through being on holiday. So I think what am I going to wear, what am I going to eat and drink, bedding, reading material etc and fresh water. Have a look at these http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/helpandadvice/gettingstarted/newtomotorhomes/motorhomecare/motorhome-maintenance-checklist/ http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/advice-and-information/checklists/motorhome-checklist https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/248797/van-driver-daily-walkaround-check.pdf

sakofox
Thanks for the cc checklist, I can understand all basic checks on the vehicle. Being new to MH I just want to make sure I switch gas off, if needed, change fridge to electric , stow TV Arial etc etc
docted
Duncan a good way to remind yourself to check is to tie something onto the steering wheel it may just help to save a hook up cable.
Pampam
If you have "back steadies" a trick i learnt off this forum was to store the handle brace over the pedals , so you didnt drive off without winding them up:( i also wrote a list for myself as passenger and put it under my Sun shade to check certain things eg the cutlery drawer that i continally forgot about that would shoot across the kitchen when we turned a sharp corner ,lock the fridge what a mess that mother could make lol , one of ours "autotrail floor cupboards didnt lock at all (bad design) and were always flying open , i sorted it by fastening handles together with a dog collar , not really what you should have to do with a new van but heyho thats the fun of camping cheers pp:) plus am sure youll add to your list the more trips out you have :)
candapack
Having driven off without locking the fridge or turning off the gas, I spent some time typing a checklist, printing and then laminating it. The idea was to put it in a place the driver couldn't miss. When looking for a prominent place, I found the checklist already prepared and placed by AutoSleepers, just not quite prominently enough. *-) Check your cab, you might find the same. ;-)
