Was told Canterbury had plans to extend it due to it's success, does anyone know if this has this happened yet ?

They have stated in writing that on busy periods they will open the height barriers to the main parking area  to allow Motorhomes in and were very apologetic about not providing extra  toilet dump facilities or water taps  but point out that it only a short walk to the existing facility on the Aire part of the parking, Oh that other Councils could get their act together as have Canterbury. So I assume that this is now operational.

Just had an email from Dover Council regarding the position of overnight parking.

Some of you may be aware that Dover council are discussing this issue, they're sensibly including interested parties (i.e. us hopefully ) and are due to report sometime in 2015.

Fingers crossed they'll copy Canterbury's park and ride idea.

In the meantime other than following Dover's website guidance on parking, (their car parks) you can park overnight on the Esplanade near the clock tower.

The Canterbury P+R is a great stopover and we use it regularly. But worth noting is that the Entry Barrier is locked at 8:30pm every night.

You can leave at any time but cannot enter before 6am Mon-Sat and 9am Sunday.
This can be a problem if you arrive back at Dover late evening and want to stop overnight before a long journey home.
Out side these hours Canterbury Council provide spaces at the Canterbury Coach Park.
