dora_ex
We spent 3 months there Jan - Mar. Weather is hit and miss - some days shorts and t shirts and very warm, others torrential rain and colder than the UK. We saw snow several times on higher ground traveling on the Peloponnese (and twice at sea level snow for an hour settling). It doesn't go close to Spain and Portugal on weather. Plenty of campsites open, in a few areas where campsites don't exist Free / Wild camping was tolerated in winter. We found visiting to local cafe / bar and asking if ok lead to much Greek hospitality saying fine to park up for a night and often giving their wifi codes. Greek people really are incredibly friendly and helpful, fuel and LPG available everywhere and garages took debit cards. Many bars / restaurants closed for the winter, shops were not well stocked with fresh produce - and what they had was both expensive and not great quality (again refers more to Peloponnese). It was no more difficult than Portugal for the winter - the main differences were hardly any other motorhomes (we saw possibly 2 or 3 motorhomes on any site) and the weather is not comparable at all. We loved it - very peaceful, loads to see and do, would recommend it if you aren't going for winter sun.
