sshortcircuit
Have the above which is being converted. At 45 mph we are getting a severe vibration which disappears at 55 mph. Tyres have been balanced and we are checking to see if weights still attached. Anybody had similar experience and how rectified? Most grateful for any info. terry1956
This could be down to a number of factors. Check tires, steering joints and even prop uj joints.michael
Muswell
I had that problem on a |Standard 10, many years ago. It was the prop shaft bearing.
chrisreay
We had that exact problem, balanced the tyres but still persisted. Eventually I got new tyres and it went. Try putting the spare on one side and then other and see if it goes.
sshortcircuit
Thanks all for the assistance. We had the van up on axle stands, with wheels off and it still persisted, so it kind of rules out tyre balance. I get the feeling we are just going to live with it. Guest pelmetman
Could be wheel bearings, I had a similar vibration going around right hand bends and between 40 & 50 mph ;-) ..........
colin
As above, could well be prop shaft.
Keithl
From my readings on the Sprinter Source Forum Link it appears the NCV3 Sprinter is very susceptible to prop shaft alignment at the centre bearing. If the prop shaft has ever been removed and not re-aligned correctly then you WILL get a vibration. I'm not sure of the exact method to re-align it but if you search on Sprinter Source I'm sure you will find the procedure. It is only a matter of alignment and should cost nothing other than time to achieve. Keith.
