Caddies104
Hi For those who may follow these threads for the next 5 weeks, the sites we are visiting are either in the Acsi book or Camping Cheque book.. We stay on these sites in low season as they are reasonably priced at around 16euro per night, and generally have a good toilet/ shower block, swimming pool and wifi to keep in touch with the family.. It's better than staying at home, nothing against other sites, it's what we like.. Making our way south through towns of Dijon, Beaune and Chalone Sur Saône and passing fields upon fields of vines as far as the eye coul see we came to our next stop of Chateau de l'Epervière in the village of Gigny Sur Saône. This is an Acsi site (No.1780) post code F71240. A beautiful 5* campsite near an 18th century castle in Southern Burgundy. Good cycle routes from the site and a good base for exploring this part of Burgundy. The site has heated indoor and outdoor swimming pool, Bar, Restaurant and fresh bread each morning. A good toilet block and washing up area. In the village there is a beautiful Church and a tennis court just behind the Church which we used each day, it's a very pretty village as you will see from the pics. For those who use Astra 2.8, we still have reception this far south so hopefully will watch The Baggies beat Chelsea tonight lol Picture 1. Our pitch 2. The beer 3. The Site 4. The site 5. The Chateau 6. The Church 7/8/9/10 in the village

Will86
As a couple who cannot get about so well and are unable to take long stays on the continent these days, any pictures and information are welcome and we look forward to recognising some. Perhaps those who dislike the sites shown could post everyone some of theirs. Its not every one who's been everywhere and done it all. Setting out pictures with a story is a worthwhile task and can be very time consuming, having done lots of it. Will PS come on then Tony G show us what you can do ... we await with interest ... sabino
Really enjoying these, especially with the "micro detail". I also agree you should just have one big thread that covers your holiday. Once again, thanks.

I personally find looking at other peoples snaps of their hols tedious in the extreme, just the same as looking at pics of their kids/grandkids/dogs etc doing supposedly amusing things. My fault, I shouldn't have clicked onto the post, won't make that mistake again. I won't be posting anything like this from any of my trips, you can rest assured....so don' t hold your breath. I've seen ivy covered walls/war memorials etc before thank you and I bet so have several of you too.

So you don't like this type of post while others do, but why keep banging on about it? How does you repeatedly disapproving (when others clearly find this interesting) add anything useful? pepe63xnotuse
It looks very nice Caddies'.... Although, as has been said, maybe it would be better just continuing it all on the one thread?... (..or maybe even look at starting a blog?..with a link in your signature?).. Anyway, keep it up...and I hope you've got a "head-cam" for when you go paragliding and bungee jumping?... (lol)
LordThornber
Great thread, much enjoying it thanks for your efforts. As an aside, I've recently joined a Facebook Bailey motorhome owners group. It is excellent. We're Facebook users and find it a very useful social media tool. Appreciating fully that Warners provide this Forum free of charge, it's a shame that it cannot incorporate some of Facebook's excellent tools, like blocking and ignoring. A whole lot of spats could be avoided, good contributors wouldn't necessarily be lost and it generally could be an even better Forum than it is. Apologies for being slightly off subject, but I hope you see the connections. Martyn
Will86
Tony G, Fair comment, but assuming you use a camera it would be interesting to see what scenes and views you prefer during your tours. Will

Patricia
Thank you Caddies104 particularly for this thread as I am actually booked on that site for the end of July. Looks good but I would hope it would be as it is a Castels site. Daughter has booked me on and they are usually excellent sites. However, I know it will be much more expensive when I go and a lot busier!!

Caddies104
Hi, late but waiting for wifi.. Day 8/9 would not let me change title?? I changed it but goes back when I post Moving on from the Chateau and continuing South our next stop was at the town of Vonnas at Camping Municipal " Le Renom". Camping cheque page 279 and Acsi No.279 at 14euro per night. Vonnas is about 12km west if Bourge-en-Bresse, a new campsite to us so did not know what to expect, so was pleasantly surprised by the site. The staff were warm and welcoming, the pitches clean and flat, has a nice bar and restaurant. A glass of wine was 2 euro. On the site there were lots of amenities although the pool was closed until the end of the month. Free tennis courts and a bonus of free fishing in the river just at the back of our pitch, which I spent a very relaxing few hours, unfortunately had to go and buy some fish for our tea!! Also has free wifi on all pitches... It was a just few minutes walk into the town of Vonnas which was really quite quaint, very clean with lots of old buildings with plenty of character; and some bars and restaurants which looked really inviting Pics self explanatory

Agree with will. We now have to use sites that are easy to access local area,s. Don't need sitea that are all singing/dancing, but need to be able to walk to places , as we do not have bikes. We always use ACSI, but prefer Spain to France (Personal choice) We now have alist of places that meet our needs, and are currently in Calpe , pretty busy here, and if Dave Pelmetman reads this, the Mac Donalds is due to open within days now, so will save on cooking the chips! One for OAAL to sort out perhaps! Take part of that back, now has gone back to 8/9 of 44, confused!? It depends which button you click when replying, let me explain... If you click 'Quote' or 'Reply' within the last post or any previous post then the title will be as that post. If however you click 'Post Reply' from BELOW the last post then the title will revert to the original. I think I've got that right :-) Keith. Edit. I clicked 'Quote' in the last post and got 'Day 8/9' exactly as I expected :D
