Fresh water intake and toilet flush tank

I am thinking of changing motorhomes and considering a 2012 Auto sleepers Cotswold.

My queries however don't relate specifically to this motorhome.

The thetford toilet I think has its own separate fresh water flush tank and again I think has an inlet and flap on the outside of the body immediately above the cassette door. When I look in however there appears to be a pipe or wire at the back of the inlet. Never had a separate tank system before so am a bit confused.

I think it also has a caravan type main tank filler but can tell whether this can be used as on my existing van with a hose and submersible pump from my roller water container to fill..

Any other comments on the Auto sleeper range or Cotswold in particular much appreciated.

Thanks Dave

On-line photos suggest that an A-S Cotswold would have a Thetford C-200CWE toilet with electric flush and integrated 8.3litre flush-water reservoir filled through an inlet/flap above the cassette-locker’s door. I’ve no practical experience of this toilet, but there will certainly be hoses to allow the reservoir to be drained and to feed flush-water, plus wiring for the 12V pump.

Historically Auto-Sleepers have tended to fit a ‘caravan-type’ fresh-water inlet that allows filling from a container as well as from a mains water-tap. In principle, then, you OUGHT to be able to continue to use your pump and hose.

Your best bet for detailed advice on the Cotswold model is probably the Auto-Sleepers Owners Forum
