Hi I'm thinking of purchasing a 2004 Fiat Ducato McLouis Glen 430W motorhouse.

If anybody has one please advice if there are any general or mechanical faults, any issues with damp, water ingress? any advice would be appreciated before we purchase the motorhome.

many thanks.

Hi Andi & welcome to the forum

McLouis were a budget range, manufactured in Italy as part of the SEA Group, who at that time also owned Autosleeper & Marquis. IIRC Marquis were the importer. No longer imported & not sure if the brand still exist, so any McLouis specific parts may be a problem. However most of the habitation equipment will be from main equipment suppliers. As with any motorhome of that age insist on a full damp test, prior to & as a condition of purchase.

The McLouis motorhome company is still alive and well

but their website suggests that the brand currently has no official UK presence.

McLouis is part of the SEA Group that, in turn, is part of the Trigano Group. A potted history is here

McLouis has always had a good-value-for-money reputation, but (as flicka advises) however well a motorhome might have been constructed originally, an 11-year old vehicle should be VERY carefully checked over before committing to buying it.

The Glen 430W packs a lot of berths/belted seats into a fairly compact vehicle

There’s a lot of rear overhang, so some susceptibility to side-winds might be anticipated.
