Hawcara
We don't have solar panels on the van. However as we will be spending days on Aires, I wondered if anyone could recommend a cheap suitcase type charger to fulfill this purpose to trickle charge an iPad. :-)
sshortcircuit
For all the energy an iPad needs a cigarette type charger should be adequate.
the general
Correct in fact Apple do their own 12 volt charging lead, very useful works very well you got to pay Apple prices but don't be tempted for substandard leads non Apple .
Hawcara
Thank you. Looked at Apple lead and thought it was expensive, but grateful for the clarification. :-)
sshortcircuit
When in Spain I damaged the charge lead for my iPad mini. I took the power supply and iPad with me and tried 5 outlets before I could get one to work. I had tried a cheap one I had brought from the UK and it did not work. Unfortunately it's typical Apple where they charge extortionate prices. Pirate copies do work, but try before you buy.
the general
Basically you get what you pay for , I have heard of cheap leads melting trying to charge equipment from the 12 v socket , let's face it you either an apple fan or not .
