seb_vix
Hey all, We have read online that it is possible to get motor homes with a large rear garage with a U shaped lounge over the top (instead of a fixed bed) but have not been able to find any online. Does anybody know if this layout exists?
Guest frankie640
Frankia 740. Not cheap, but a really nice van. Try SMC In Newark.
Steve928
Also the Frankia 680 FF2G. Lot of money for a small van and not the prettiest to my eye as it is very tall. At the other end of the size scale there is also a big Euramobil tag axle but I don't know its designation.
HWO
Hi and welcome. we were looking for that layout a couple of years ago. We very nearly put our money on a Dethleff Alpa, got that exact layout. If you Google it you will see it. Don't know if it is still made or how popular it was. At the time we were looking there was that and another Dethleff plus a Hymer. It is not a easy layout to produce,do you need a full garage or just plenty of storage ? HWO
donna miller
Hymer 534 or 634 has the layout you desire, the garage may not be as big as some but certainly enough for most requirements (unless you try to put a scooter in). We had the 534 and carrried more junk than imaginable in the garage.
Intransit
Hi We were looking for exactly that layout a couple of years ago. We looked at the Frankia and the Dethleff Alpa and eventually went for the Alpa. We have not regretted it. There is a large garage capable of fitting 2 or 3 bikes, a large rear lounge with good kitchen, beds are 2 single overcab beds but with a very easy fold down step system to get into it. Cab is closed off so keeps van very warm. This is sold as a van for two but will sleep 4 and we have 2 optional fold down seatbelt seats so can carry 4 people. It is tall (3.23m) but not over long (7.2m) Works for us and they are still made.

Sydney1
If it is just lots of storage rather than literally a "garage" then the Scout from Autotrail is worth a look. We have one and have yet to get any where near using up all the storage. Very large rear lounge and large full width lockers below with plenty of payload.
